Good Afternoon Bridge Puerto Rico families,

The students have arrived safely in San Juan and should be phoning home within the next couple hours for a brief check in if they haven't already! Leah and Jonathan assured us that the trip was perfectly uneventful and all the kids are very excited to be getting started!

Leah Boch
Age: 24
Education: Harvard University, Social Anthropology.

Staff Bio:
Leah is excited to be joining the Travel Staff for the second consecutive year. Leah's love for travel started when she was a camper at Windsor Mountain and a fellow camper from Belgium invited her to spend three weeks traveling in Belgium and France. Not speaking a word of French, Leah realized how important language was and decided to spend her junior year of high school in Spain with School Year Abroad to master the Spanish language. Since then, the travel bug has stayed strong. During college, Leah spent time working and studying in Chile, Costa Rica, and Brazil. After having fallen in love with the pace of life in Costa Rica, she recently decided to return and spend six months in Monteverde, where she was an assistant teacher at the Cloud Forest School. When she wasn't teaching, she filled her afternoons by climbing strangler figs, brushing up on her Spanish, attempting to dance salsa, and perfecting her gallo pinto (rice and beans) recipe, which she is excited to share with the Bridge Puerto Rico group!

Jonathan Brooks
Age: 25
Education: Lewis & Clark College, Mathematics, Hispanic Studies.

Staff Bio:
Jonathan is excited to be joining Windsor Mountain for his second summer. He is originally from Milton, MA but was last settled in Portland, OR. After finishing up college and working for a year with teenagers in a therapeutic setting, Jonathan decided to leave Portland behind. Since that
fateful day when he left by bike, he has ridden his bike down the west coast, spent time in Southern Africa and Boston, and explored Arizona’s Sonoran desert. Most recently in Sololá, Guatemala, Jonathan was working with Mayan youth teaching (and often learning) soccer, English, and life-skills education. Jonathan spent this past year creating outdoor education programs for students in Hong Kong and China. Always excited for new adventures, especially those in new cultures, Jonathan is looking forward to leading the Bridge Puerto Rico students on an amazing adventure this summer.
